OUR VISION

Iford URC have a vision to grow spiritually, as we share the love of God and fellowship with the local community and show care and understanding to all whom we meet in our daily life.

Our Junior Church is working on a vision to bring their Sunday worship up to date and meaningful to the young people in our modern world.

We continue to care for the older generation in our Church and at the same time plan our yearly Calendar to encompass the young families which we have in the Church.

WHAT IS THE UNITED REFORMED CHURCH?

We are “called to be God’s people, transformed by the Gospel, making a difference in today’s world”. The Church has brought together English Presbyterians, English, Welsh and Scottish Congregationalists and members of the Churches of Christ through unions in 1972, 1981 and 2000. As one of the Reformed family of Churches we turn to the Bible as our authority in matters of faith and life, and we depend on the Holy Spirit to guide us.  We order our Church life through the councils of the Church: notably Church Meeting, Elders’ Meeting, Synod and General Assembly. In each local Church the team of Elders shares with the Minister in the oversight and leadership of the Church.

IFORD URC – SAFEGUARDING STATEMENT OF INTENT

This church is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of both adults and children regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexuality or belief.

We will seek to establish a caring environment in which there is an informed vigilance about the dangers of abuse and will implement, maintain and regularly review the procedures outlined in our policy, which are designed to prevent and to be alert to abuse.
